Weekend Bee Visit, May 30

Last weekend, Mark and I visited our bees and overall, we are pleased with their hard work, but we continue to have little challenges.  Hives 02 and 03 are strong.  Hive 04 is our best hive and has yet to let us down.  The queen in hive 04 has been laying since we started beekeeping in March.  When we inspected hive 04, Mark spotted the queen quickly:

Hive 04 queen.
We are waiting to see what will happen with our hive 01 situation.  We were expecting some good news, considering all of the queen excitement we have had with this colony over the past few weeks, but last weekend, we did not see a queen or brood.  We did notice two supercedure cells, which gave us hope.  Worse case, if we do not see evidence of a queen next weekend, we will order a new one from BeeWeaver.
Two queen cells in hive 01 give us some hope.
