Caldwell, Texas - "Wild" Bees
Mark and I are chomping at the bit to get our hives and bees from Bee Weaver (www.beeweaver.com) later this month!
In the meantime, we have been enjoying the "wild" bees in Doug and Linda's well. I first mentioned these bees in my post dated March 21st. Yesterday, we checked in on the bees and as you can see, they have filled in their comb.
The wild bees visit the birdbath and hummingbird feeders on the property. I think bees drinking water is the sweetest thing to watch! They are so gentle and relaxed, even when we are hovering just a few inches over them to get this pic.

There are several yaupon holly trees on the property, one just behind where we will place our hives. These wild bees are all over the yaupon trees, which will make for great honey.
